Canada Soccer president Nick Bontis and general secretary Earl Cochrane held a public interview hours after the match undoing, and the message was that Canada Soccer had serious limitations, yet was accessible and prepared to arrange.
"Canada Soccer is exceptionally disheartened in the players' choice to decline to play today," Bontis said in his underlying comments. The alliance apologized to the fans and communicated appreciation.
"Canada Soccer has been working with the players sincerely to find a way forward that is fair and impartial for all," his assertion proceeded. "We might want to have a reality put together conversation based with respect to the monetary limitations that Canada Soccer should live in."
"We accept we made a fair proposal to the players," Bontis said. "We benchmarked our proposal with different proposals all over the planet."
